Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — photograph the visible face of the stack and the AI counts every carton it can see, marking each one. For full pallets, count each visible side and use the tally sheet to combine them into one total.

usage

Mark 1–3 example boxes by dragging a box around them and the AI counts exactly that item, ignoring everything else in the frame. Every counted item gets a dot on the image so you can verify the total at a glance.

usage

Mark 1–3 examples of the carton size you're counting and the AI counts just that carton type. Repeat per type and the tally sheet keeps a labelled row for each.

features

Yes — counting photos is free with no signup for everyday use. Photos are uploaded only to process and are deleted automatically afterwards; we never keep or share them.

privacy

Auto handles a uniform pallet automatically, but on a mixed pallet switch to Similar items and mark 1-3 examples of the carton size you're auditing so the AI counts only that size, ignoring the rest — then repeat with new examples for each carton type. Detect objects works better when cartons are clearly separated rather than stacked tight against each other.

features

Raise the Sensitivity slider so partially-hidden or shadowed cartons at the back of a pallet get picked up. If the count is inflated by pallet wrap, shipping labels or stray debris being read as boxes, raise Ignore small detections to filter that clutter out; this slider is hidden in Similar items mode since exemplar marking handles that instead.

usage

Switch the Result overlay to Dots only so every counted carton gets a visible marker you can cross-check against the photo, or use Heatmap only to spot dense clusters on a large pallet at a glance. Checking the overlay against the physical stack takes seconds and catches misses before they become a goods-in discrepancy.

quality

Add each pallet or stack photo's count to the Tally sheet with a label, and it keeps a running grand total across every row, exportable as CSV. For a full truck or warehouse cycle count, switch to Bulk audit mode, upload every stack photo at once, and let it count each one and populate the tally automatically — then save the finished audit to your account and share it with your goods-in team.

tips

Adding a count to the Tally sheet and exporting a CSV is free with no signup required. The branded PDF report option is a Premium feature, as is Bulk audit — counting every pallet or stack photo in a delivery at once — which shows a lock icon for free accounts.

pricing

No — Bulk audit always counts with the Auto engine and only your Sensitivity value; it doesn't carry over a Similar items/Detect objects choice or any example cartons you marked. For a pallet that needs a specific mode or exemplars, count it in the single-photo view instead.

features

Yes — Saved stock-takes under your account lists every audit you've saved. Use 'Open in tally' to load one back into the Tally sheet for more counting, or delete it once the delivery or cycle count is closed out.

features

Yes — the single-photo upload screen (not Bulk audit) shows a 'Take a photo' button on phones that opens your device's rear camera directly, so you can photograph the pallet or stack on the spot at goods-in. Bulk audit doesn't show this button since it's built for uploading multiple existing photos in one go.

usage

Yes — each row in the Tally sheet has an editable Count field alongside the editable label, so you can type in the corrected number after comparing the result overlay to the physical stack. That's quicker than reshooting the photo just to fix one row of the audit.

How Box & Carton Counter helps you get it done

Real problems it solves every day — for businesses, creators, and everyday tasks. Find the use case that fits you and start in seconds.

For Business

Check In a Truck Load Against the Manifest

Photograph each pallet as it comes off the truck, count the cartons in seconds, and cross-check the total against the delivery manifest before goods-in sign-off.

On Mobile

Run Warehouse Cycle Counts from a Phone

Walk the aisles snapping each stack with your phone camera, add every count to the Tally sheet, and export the whole cycle count as a CSV or branded PDF at the end of the round.

Productivity

Count a Multi-Site Dispatch in One Batch

Switch to Bulk audit, upload every pallet photo from the day's dispatch run at once, and get a single grand total instead of tallying each stack by hand.

For Developers

Isolate One SKU on a Mixed Pallet

Mark 1-3 example cartons of the size or SKU you're checking and the AI counts only that carton, ignoring other box sizes stacked on the same pallet.

For Business

Hand Off a Verified Count to Goods-In

Save the finished audit to your account and copy a read-only team link so the goods-in supervisor can check the counted total and marked-up photo without logging in.

For Business

Verify an Outgoing Wholesale Order Before It Ships

Photograph the cartons packed for a customer's wholesale order before it leaves the warehouse and check the count against the order quantity, catching a short pick before the customer does instead of after a complaint.
