Yes. Free users can translate the first 2 pages of any PDF — enough for letters, forms, and short documents. Premium removes the page cap and translates whole documents up to 50 pages per run, with uploads up to 50MB instead of the free 5MB limit.

No — and we are upfront about that. The output uses a clean, simplified text layout with a heading for each source page and wrapped paragraphs below it. It is built for reading and understanding the content, not for reproducing the original design, images, or tables. If you only need the words, the plain text (.txt) download is even lighter.

Twenty languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Languages written in non-Latin scripts such as Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese currently download as text files because our PDF fonts do not cover those scripts yet.

Not directly. The translator reads the selectable text layer of a PDF, and a scan has none — you will see a message asking you to OCR it first. Run the scan through an OCR tool such as our image-to-word or PDF OCR converters, then upload the recognized result here to translate it.

Your PDF is processed on our secure servers and auto-deleted after processing. Translation runs on our own self-hosted translation engine rather than being forwarded to third-party translation APIs, and the downloadable result expires automatically.
