Avoid an A4 export when your recipient expects US Letter
Use the paper size expected by a US Letter printer or document request. This page starts with Letter selected, avoiding an accidental A4 export. Review each image’s scale and margins before printing or sending the finished PDF.
Letter-size administrative packets
Combine image pages for a request specifying US Letter and check the receiving organization’s content and upload rules separately.
Handouts for Letter-paper printers
Create a consistent document from mixed image sizes and review the printed scale before producing multiple copies.
Prepare Letter pages and check printer scaling
- Choose your images; the paper control starts on Letter.
- Set orientation and margins, checking that small text remains legible at Letter size.
- Download the PDF and choose the appropriate scaling option in your printer dialog.
Letter defaults, printer overrides and OCR options
- What is the difference between Letter and A4 PDF pages?
- US Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches. A4 is 210 × 297 mm and has different proportions, which can change margins and printer scaling.
- Is Letter actually selected before I upload?
- Yes. Letter is selected when this page opens. You can change it if your document needs another paper size.
- Will my printer automatically use the PDF’s Letter size?
- Printer settings may override the document size or apply scaling. Check the selected paper tray and print preview in your PDF viewer.
- Can I make a searchable Letter-size PDF?
- Yes. Select Make text searchable and choose the source language. The OCR layer supports recognized text while the visible pages use the chosen layout.
