Hair Shine first finds uncovered hair that belongs to a detected face, checking both the original and a mirrored copy of the photo. For each hairstyle, it measures the range of light already in the hair and the local strand detail, then brightens only highlights that already exist in the most clearly identified part of the hair, by a small capped amount. Soft, uncertain hair edges are left alone so a bright background edge cannot turn into a halo. It does not draw glossy streaks, recolor hair, add texture, or regenerate the face. The result is a lossless PNG, and every pixel outside the verified hair highlights is copied unchanged.
