Upload your image and choose a cover photo preset. The tool keeps proportion while adding smart padding if needed, so key content stays in the safe zone. This avoids awkward cropping on desktop and mobile and produces a sharp, sRGB JPEG ready for upload to your profile or page.
usageSquare 1080 x 1080 works well for most posts, while link shares often look good around 1200 x 630 to avoid weird crops. Our presets help you match recommended dimensions so your Facebook images render crisply, attract engagement, and avoid compression-related softness.
tipsStart with a high-resolution source and resize to a square preset. Keep the face centered with a little breathing room, export as a high-quality JPEG in sRGB color space, and avoid over-sharpening. This ensures your profile image maintains clarity after Facebook re-encodes it.
qualityIt has one-click presets for the six most-used Facebook placements: Profile Picture, Cover Photo, Post Image, Event Image, Group Photo and Story Image. Pick the placement you are creating for and the image is resized to Facebook's exact dimensions, so nothing is cropped awkwardly or stretched — giving your Page a consistent, professional look.
businessFacebook re-encodes uploads, but you can minimize artifacts by exporting at recommended sizes with quality around 80–85 and using sRGB. Our resizer preserves detail and avoids unnecessary upscaling, which helps keep images crisp after platform compression.
qualityYes. You can upload JPG, PNG, or WebP and export a high-quality JPEG that is broadly compatible with Facebook. Transparent PNGs are flattened cleanly, making logos, product shots, and posters render well without jagged edges or odd halos.
technicalYes. Resizing runs on our secure servers and uploads are auto-deleted after processing. Your files are not retained, and downloads have no watermark. It's a fast, privacy-friendly way to prepare Facebook cover photos, profile pictures, ads, and post images that upload smoothly and look polished.
privacyWhen your photo's proportions don't match the target Facebook size, Use Blur Background fills the empty space with a softly blurred, zoomed copy of the same photo instead of a flat color bar. It automatically switches on Maintain Aspect Ratio and exposes a Blur Intensity slider (5-50) so you can control how soft the backdrop looks — lower values keep more texture, higher values give a cleaner, more abstract fill.
featuresTurn off Use Blur Background while Maintain Aspect Ratio stays on, and a Background Color field appears with a color swatch, a hex input, and four quick presets (white, black, light gray, gray). This is useful when your brand has a signature color and you want padded bars around a portrait photo to match it instead of using a blur.
featuresJPEG is the safest default for photos since Facebook re-compresses uploads anyway and JPEG keeps file sizes small. Choose PNG if your image has transparency or crisp text/logos you don't want softened, WebP for the smallest file at similar quality, or GIF only if you're preparing a static image that must stay compatible with an existing GIF-based workflow. The Output Format selector auto-detects PNG, WebP or GIF sources and defaults to JPEG for everything else.
technicalFacebook crops profile pictures into a circle, so square exports can lose content at the corners. Selecting the Profile Picture preset shows a safe zone overlay marking exactly what stays visible inside that circular crop, with a Hide/Show safe zone button so you can toggle it off once you've confirmed your subject is centered correctly.
tipsPick the Cover Photo preset, turn on Maintain Aspect Ratio with Use Blur Background enabled so any leftover space is filled naturally instead of stretching your image, set Quality to around 90-100 for maximum sharpness before Facebook's own re-encoding, and export as JPEG. This combination avoids visible seams, keeps your subject uncropped, and survives Facebook's compression with the least visible quality loss.
tipsTurning off Maintain Aspect Ratio stretches your photo to exactly fill the target width and height with no padding, which means it will look squashed or stretched if your source photo's proportions don't already match the preset — for example, a square photo forced into the 1640×664 Cover Photo size. Leave Maintain Aspect Ratio on, paired with either Use Blur Background or a solid Background Color, whenever your source photo isn't already the same ratio as the size you picked so nothing gets distorted.
featuresPick the Event Image preset for a 1920×1080 event cover, ideal for concerts, launches and public gatherings, or the Group Photo preset for a 1640×856 group cover sized for Facebook Groups. Both presets work with Maintain Aspect Ratio and Use Blur Background the same way Cover Photo does, so a mismatched source photo still fills the frame cleanly instead of leaving gaps.
usagePick the Story Image preset for a 1080×1920 vertical export sized for Facebook Stories. Because a Story canvas is much taller than most source photos, turn on Use Blur Background (or Maintain Aspect Ratio with a solid Background Color) so the extra space above and below your photo doesn't turn into flat black or white bars, and set Quality to 90 or higher for a sharp result on phone screens.
