To merge PDFs online for free, combine several PDFs into one file and drag the rows into the order you want. Merge PDF works on whole files and accepts PDF files only, so to combine a JPG and a PDF, turn the photos into a PDF first, set the paper size and margins, then add that file to the merge with your other documents. To change the order of whole files before a merge, drag the file rows in Merge PDF instead. Pages that scanned sideways have their own fix: rotate the pages before or after you reorder them.

Shrink a PDF with a compression preset: Screen reduces image resolution the most, E-book suits reading on a device, and Printer and Prepress keep print-level detail. The file you download is never larger than the one you uploaded, and text stays selectable. There is no exact target size, so if a portal still refuses the file, send only the pages it asks for or compress the photos before you build the PDF.

Sign a PDF by drawing, typing or uploading your signature, then place it, a date or a stamp on the page. It adds a visible signature image, not a certificate-based digital signature, so confirm that the recipient accepts that. A form with fillable fields is quicker to complete field by field.
