The Colorize engine switch lets you A/B two AI colorizers on the same photo. Engine 1 is the default — it produces vivid, photo-realistic colours and is best for most portraits, landscapes and modern black-and-white shots. Engine 2 gives a softer, more muted vintage look that many people prefer for antique or period photos. Try both and keep whichever result looks most natural for your image.

For faces and skin tones, keep the vividness slider low to mid (around 30–50%) so colours stay believable and true-to-life. Push it higher for landscapes, foliage, flowers or clothing where you want richer, bolder colour. If a colorized portrait looks over-saturated, lower the vividness and switch to Engine 2 for a gentler, film-like finish.
