Privacy Policy

Account Information

You can try most of our tools before creating an account. When you choose to create an account, we collect the information you provide — your first and last name, your email address, and a password, which is stored only in securely hashed form. When you choose Continue with Google, Pixoate receives basic Google profile information—your Google account ID, name, email address and, if available, profile photo—only to create, link and sign in to your Pixoate account. This sign-in flow does not request access to Google Calendar, Drive, Gmail or other Google content. If you contact us or submit feedback, we also keep that correspondence so we can respond.

Images and Files

A number of text and developer utilities process entirely in your browser — the JSON, HTML and Markdown formatters, the hash, Base64, JWT and URL tools, the case and word-count tools, the diff checker, color picker, password and lorem-ipsum generators, and the QR generator. When a signed-out visitor deliberately requests a file download, a temporary copy of only the finished export may be stored so the result survives authentication; it expires automatically. Tools that require server-side processing send files securely over HTTPS and automatically delete them within 24 hours — unless you explicitly share a result: new public links have no automatic expiration while the sharing service remains available, and end when removed or when their owning account is deleted; anyone with the link can open it, and, if you rate a result thumbs-down and leave the investigate box ticked, that image and its result stay for up to 30 days for our team to debug, or have uploads, completed tool results or editable Photo Editor designs saved to your private account, where active saved work has no automatic expiration. We never sell or publish your files, and we never use them to train models. Infrastructure and processing providers may handle a file only as needed to deliver the operation you requested. Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. We receive only the limited details needed to manage your subscription — such as your selected plan, billing status, and a reference token. We never receive or store your full payment-card number; that information is provided directly to and handled by Dodo Payments in accordance with their privacy policy and industry payment-card security standards.

Usage Information

We collect limited usage and request information to operate the service, meter plans and credits, prevent abuse, investigate failures, and reconcile billing. Request audit records may be retained for up to 395 days; they do not extend the life of an uploaded or processed file.

Secure Data Processing

During that delivery and recovery window, access is limited to the services and authorized operators needed to run, secure, or support the requested operation. We never sell or publish your files, and we never use them to train models.

Optional Accounts and Account Deletion

When signed in, accepted tool uploads and completed results can be saved privately within your account storage allowance, alongside editable Photo Editor designs. Reverse image search is excluded. My Work shows files whose account save completed; a processing result can still be downloaded immediately if its account save fails. Active saved work has no automatic expiration. Storage limits and subscription downgrades do not delete existing work; they can prevent new saves that need more space. Removing an item moves it to Trash for 30 days, except files still needed by saved designs or related results, which remain with that work. Removing a library entry does not revoke a separate public share link. Deleting your account revokes access and queues removal of its stored files. The five previous design saves are kept for recovery, not as an independent backup. Keep exports of important work. An account is only required for features such as saved work and paid subscriptions; the core tools remain usable without one. You can access or correct your account information at any time from your account settings, and you can delete your account yourself from your settings or by asking us through our contact form.

What Happens When You Delete Your Account

When you delete your account, we remove your account profile and access credentials, your private account uploads, saved tool results and Photo Editor workspace (access is revoked immediately and stored files are queued for removal), your saved work history — the small preview images and job details behind My Work — any images you asked us to investigate after a thumbs-down rating, and any feedback you sent us, and any active subscription is cancelled. Certain limited information may be retained for a period where necessary to prevent fraud, detect abuse (including repeated account creation to obtain promotional benefits), comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms. This retained information is restricted to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes and is retained only for as long as required, after which it is deleted or anonymized. If you later create a new account with the same email address, we may link it to your previous usage history so that free allowances and promotional benefits continue rather than reset.

Temporary Data Storage

Files needed for server processing are stored temporarily and automatically deleted within 24 hours. Anonymous results preserved through sign-in use a much shorter temporary window and expire automatically — unless you explicitly share a result: new public links have no automatic expiration while the sharing service remains available, and end when removed or when their owning account is deleted; anyone with the link can open it, and, when you are signed in, your account keeps a small preview image and the details of each result for 7 days on the free plan or 180 days on Premium — never a copy of your file, and you can delete it whenever you like, and, if you rate a result thumbs-down and leave the investigate box ticked, that image and its result stay for up to 30 days for our team to debug, or have uploads, completed tool results or editable Photo Editor designs saved to your private account, where active saved work has no automatic expiration. We do not store them for any other purpose, and we never sell them or your personal data to anyone.

Results You Choose to Share

Sharing a result is the only thing that ever makes it public, and it only happens when you ask for it. New share links keep that result — and, where the shared page shows a before/after, the photo you started from — without automatic expiration while Pixoate provides the sharing service. A link ends when you remove it, delete its owning account, or we remove it for abuse, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the sharing service. Lifetime sharing is not a guarantee of permanent archival storage; keep your own copy. Existing links with an expiry date keep that date, shown on their shared page. A share link is public: the address is unguessable, but it is not password-protected and does not require signing in, so anyone who has the link can open the result. The shared page is marked noindex, which instructs search engines not to include it in search results. Nothing is ever published unless you create the link yourself. To take a link down, open the result and choose “Remove link” — you can revoke your own share link at any time, and the page stops opening for everyone who has it. Once no active share or other disclosed retention exception keeps a file, it becomes eligible for the normal cleanup.

Your Work History (“My Work”)

If you are signed in, we also keep a short history of result previews, separate from the saved files in My Work. An entry is a small preview image — at most 32 KB — plus the details of the job, such as the tool you used and the file name. The history entry is never a copy of the file you uploaded and does not itself retain a processed file. Files not retained by account storage, sharing or another disclosed exception expire on the normal 24-hour schedule, after which an expired result can no longer be opened from its preview. How far back the history reaches depends on your plan — 7 days on the free plan, 180 days on Premium — and each entry deletes itself automatically at the end of that window. You can remove a single entry or clear the whole list from recent history at any time; this removes its preview and details, not a separately saved library file. Deleting your account erases the history with it. Signed out, none of this happens: the recent-work list on a signed-out device is stored in that browser only and is never sent to us.

Images You Ask Us to Investigate

If a result goes wrong and you rate it thumbs-down, we show you a tick-box that lets our team keep the photo you uploaded and the result we produced, so we can reproduce the fault and fix it. The box starts ticked so a quick report includes what we need to debug it, and you can untick it before submitting — then nothing is kept. It applies only to that specific result; there is no setting that turns it on for everything. What you consent to is narrow: the pair is readable only by our team behind an internal login, it is never published, never shared and never used to train models, and it deletes itself automatically after 30 days. Deleting your account deletes any samples with it.

Browser Extension

Our browser extension for Chrome and Firefox, Pixoate Quick Edit, adds a right-click shortcut for editing images you find on the web. It reads an image only when you explicitly choose an action for it from the right-click menu and then confirm; nothing is read, sent or stored before that confirmation, and the extension never scans pages, never injects content and never redirects you on its own. When you confirm, the image is held briefly in your own browser’s extension storage purely to hand it to the tool you chose. The temporary handoff copy is removed from extension storage when the tool receives it; if you never continue, it expires automatically within ten minutes. From that point the image is treated exactly like any file you upload yourself, under the same terms described above. The extension asks for access to a website only when the page cannot supply the image itself, you can withdraw that access at any time from your browser’s extension settings, and the extension collects no browsing history, no personal information and no analytics of its own.
