About PowerPoint to PDF

Uses LibreOffice Impress headless to render each slide as one PDF page. Fonts, images, themes and embedded media are preserved; animations and transitions are flattened to their final state.

Frequently Asked Questions

Drop a .ppt, .pptx or .odp file. LibreOffice Impress opens it headlessly and converts every slide to a PDF page — preserving fonts, transitions in their final state, embedded images, charts, SmartArt and speaker notes layout.

usage

Yes — each slide becomes a single PDF page sized to the slide's aspect ratio (16:9 widescreen by default, or 4:3 for older decks). This is the standard "handout-style" PDF that recipients can print, comment on or share.

features

No — PDFs are static, so each slide appears in its final animated state (all elements visible, last animation step shown). Slide transitions (fade, push, etc.) are not converted. For interactive presentations, export from PowerPoint as a video instead.

technical

By default no — only the slide content is exported. To include speaker notes, save the .pptx with the "Notes Pages" layout selected in PowerPoint's print settings, then convert to PDF. We are working on a "Notes mode" toggle in the converter.

features

Videos appear as the still-frame poster image in the PDF. PDF spec supports embedded video but most viewers can't play it reliably, so we render the poster for consistent results across devices.

technical

LibreOffice ships a broad set of fonts; for non-standard branded fonts it falls back to the closest match, which is sometimes visible. For exact font fidelity, embed fonts into the PPTX before upload (PowerPoint > File > Options > Save > Embed fonts).

quality

Files are uploaded to our LibreOffice service, converted in an isolated environment, and deleted within 24 hours. For confidential investor decks, board presentations or pre-launch product reveals, use a desktop LibreOffice install for full local processing.

privacy

Free, no signup, no watermark, files up to 50MB. The LibreOffice engine is the same one Google Slides uses internally for export — production-grade quality at no cost.

Use Cases

Conference Handouts

Convert your slide deck to PDF before sharing with conference organisers and attendees. Avoids "I can't open this on my Mac" issues and keeps the file size reasonable for email distribution.

events

Sales Deck Distribution

Salespeople often share decks after a pitch. PowerPoint files can be edited, but a PDF version freezes the pitch as you delivered it — no slide-shifting in the recipient's software.

sales

Investor Deck Sharing

Founders sending an investor deck want pixel-perfect rendering regardless of who opens it. PDF guarantees the same look on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android.

startup

Course Material Distribution

University lecturers and online course creators distribute PowerPoint as PDF on Canvas, Blackboard or Teachable so students on any platform can study from the same source of truth.

Marketing Pitch Decks for Print

Sometimes a deck needs to be printed for in-person presentations. PDF is the universal print-shop format with predictable margins and page count.

Speaker Notes Sharing

When sharing your deck with co-presenters or stakeholders who weren't in the room, the PDF version captures the slides as you presented them — including any custom theme that may not render correctly on someone else's PowerPoint.
