How do I add a CONFIDENTIAL watermark to a draft contract before sending?

Type 'CONFIDENTIAL' (or DRAFT, NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION, etc.), pick red color, 30% opacity, 45° rotation, large font, centered. The watermark appears diagonally across every page — the recipient cannot remove it without destructive editing.

What opacity and color work best?

30–40% opacity + medium gray or muted red — visible enough to read but doesn't obscure the underlying text. For high-secrecy docs, use 50%+ opacity in bright red — the watermark dominates and discourages screenshots being treated as final.

Can I watermark only specific pages?

Yes — specify page ranges like '1-5,10' to watermark only those pages. Useful when only some pages are confidential (e.g., draft sections inside an otherwise finalized contract).

Can I use a logo image as a watermark instead of text?

Switch to logo-watermark mode and upload a PNG. Set opacity and position. Useful for company-branded leave-behinds where every shared PDF carries the brand mark.

Will the watermark be visible when printed?

Yes — watermarks render exactly the same on screen and print. To make a watermark print-only (invisible on screen but appears when printed), you'd need a more advanced PDF tool. This adds it to both.

Can the recipient remove the watermark?
