Product and property photo workflows

Resize Photos for Google Business Profile

A business photo helps customers recognise the place, product or service they are looking for. Prepare a clear, representative image rather than treating the upload as an advertising banner. Check the crop, dimensions and file size before submitting it to your verified profile.

Prepare, check and export

  1. 1. Show something a customer can recognise

Choose an in-focus, well-lit photo of the real business. Keep an entrance, sign or relevant product visible. Avoid a crop that removes the context needed to recognise the location, and do not use edits that materially change what a visitor will find.

    Review the business-photo crop
  2. 2. Prepare the size and proportions

Google recommends 720 × 720 pixels for profile photos and accepts JPG or PNG. Use Resize Image to prepare a suitable square composition while retaining proportions. Different profile placements can display images differently, so inspect the final Google preview.

  3. 3. Check the file and submit it

The checked Google guidance specifies 10KB to 5MB per photo. Compress a copy only if needed, keeping lettering and useful detail readable. Submit through your Business Profile and check its status; preparing the file does not itself approve or publish it.

Before you publish

Recognition
The image should help a customer recognise the actual business or understand the real service.
Legibility
Review signs and product detail at a small displayed size, not only in the large preview.
Authenticity
Avoid significant alterations or excessive filters. A technically valid image can still fail content requirements.
Profile status
Google says profile verification is required before photos and videos show publicly.

Questions about this workflow

Will resizing a photo guarantee Google approves it?

No. Image requirements, content policies and profile status are separate checks. Pixoate prepares the file; Google determines its publication status.

Should I use an AI-generated storefront photo?

Use a photo that accurately represents your business. Google’s guidance calls for a realistic appearance without significant alterations. An imagined storefront can mislead someone trying to find you.

Can I prepare photos for several locations?

Prepare and review each location’s actual photographs. Premium batch resizing and compression can help with a consistent set, but keep every exported image associated with the correct location.
