Everyday image work comes down to a few jobs: setting a size, cutting away what you do not need, changing the file format, making the file lighter and sometimes removing a background. Resize an image to exact pixels or a percentage
To resize an image, use the Size tab, which offers Custom Dimensions, with Maintain aspect ratio switched on, and Resize by Percentage, with steps such as 25, 50, 75 and 200 percent. Presets cover social media and passport sizes. The limit is 8192 px per side. Untick the aspect lock only when you want the picture stretched. When the shape changes, the Background tab fills the extra space with a blur, a color, a gradient or a photo.
Crop to a ratio such as 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9
Cropping an image works by dragging the box and its handles, or by picking a Quick Crop Preset such as 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3 or 3:2 to place the largest centered box for that ratio. The Width and Height buttons nudge the box in steps of 5 percent, and there is no field for typing pixels, so use the resizer afterward when you need a specific pixel size. The crop is cut at the original resolution.
Convert between JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF
A format change is one step: pick a new file format under Convert to Format and set Quality, which applies to JPEG, WebP and AVIF. A transparent PNG saved as JPG gets a white background, and an animated GIF becomes a still image in the other formats. Pixel dimensions do not change.
Make the file smaller with the compressor
Make a heavy file lighter by lowering the quality or typing a Target file size in KB, then read Original, Compressed and Saved on the result screen. Output Format starts on JPEG, so choose PNG or WebP when the image has transparency.
Remove a background and arrange photos in a collage
To remove the background from an image, select AI Remove Background and download the transparent PNG, then use Refine edges if hair or thin edges need a touch-up. When photos belong together, arrange them in a collage: the maker offers Grid, Join Row, Join Column, Collage and Freeform layouts with spacing, borders and rounded corners, and exports JPG, PNG or PDF.

Resizing changes the pixel dimensions, such as 4000 by 3000 down to 1200 by 900. Compressing keeps the dimensions and lowers the quality, or aims for a file size in KB. Resize first when an image is much larger than it will be shown, then compress for the final file size.
Can I crop an image to an exact number of pixels?
The cropper has no pixel fields. It works by dragging the box, pressing the Width and Height buttons or choosing a ratio preset. To end up with exact pixel dimensions, crop to the right shape first and then set the width and height in the resizer.
How many photos can a collage hold?
A collage takes up to 12 photos. Before you sign in the limit is 10 uploaded images, including any background photo. Ready-made collage templates exist for 2 to 6 images, and the maker builds an automatic grid for other counts.
