Keep aspect ratio (contain) shrinks each photo to fit entirely inside its cell so nothing is cropped, leaving the background color or gradient visible around photos with a different shape than the cell. Use cover for a tidy grid look and contain when you don't want any part of a photo cut off.

In Grid or Collage layout with Crop to fit (cover) enabled, click a photo to select it, then drag inside the cell to pan the focal point and use the zoom control to move in closer — handy when a cover crop cuts off a face or logo you want centered. Freeform layout instead lets you drag the whole photo anywhere on the canvas and resize it freely, independent of any grid cell.

Add a text layer and set its font (sans, serif or mono), bold weight, size, color and rotation, or drop a sticker shape (heart, star, circle, square or triangle) and recolor it — drag either one anywhere on the canvas. Overlays sit above every photo and are baked into the final PNG, JPEG or PDF export.

Yes. Pick PDF, PNG or JPEG as the output format, then choose an aspect ratio preset — Auto, 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16, A4 or Letter — so the canvas is shaped exactly for print or for the platform you're posting to, instead of guessing. The output width control also sets the exact pixel size the collage renders at.

For printing, choose the A4 or Letter aspect preset, set output width to at least 2400px, use Crop to fit for a tidy grid, and add a small corner radius with white padding for a gallery look. For social media, pick the 1:1 or 9:16 aspect preset to match the platform, use a gradient or solid background color, keep the gap and padding tighter, and export as JPEG for a smaller file. Undo/redo lets you experiment with these combinations freely before committing to a download.

Yes. Use Save to download a project file that embeds your photos, background, overlays and every style setting (layout, spacing, colors, aspect ratio, format), then use Open to reload that file later and pick up exactly where you left off — useful for multi-session projects like a class yearbook or event album.

Aspect ratio locks the whole canvas to a fixed shape before the layout is calculated — 1:1 for an Instagram square, 4:5 for a portrait feed post, 9:16 for a Story or Reel cover, and A4 or Letter for a page you plan to print. Leave it on Auto and the canvas height is instead derived naturally from your layout and photos.

Freeform drops every photo onto the canvas as its own draggable, resizable tile instead of forcing them into grid cells. Tap a photo to select it, drag it anywhere, use the Size slider (10-100%) to scale it, or tap Front to bring it above overlapping photos — it's the layout to reach for scrapbook-style or overlapping designs rather than clean rows and columns.

Yes — the Text tab lets you drop in a text box (sans/serif/mono font, bold, color, size and rotation) or one of five sticker shapes (heart, star, circle, square, triangle) with their own color, size and rotation. Drag any layer to reposition it on the canvas, and the Layers list lets you re-select or delete individual text/sticker elements.

Yes — under Style, upload a background image and it fills the entire canvas edge-to-edge behind your photo cells, useful for a branded backdrop or a full-bleed scene behind a freeform arrangement. Uploading a background image automatically clears any gradient you had selected, and you can Replace or Remove it at any time.

Yes — the Output panel's Format selector includes PDF alongside JPG and PNG. Combine it with the A4 or Letter aspect ratio preset and a high output width (2400px or more) for a roughly 300 DPI, single-page, print-ready PDF.

When a layout crops photos to fill their cell (Crop to fit / cover mode), tap that photo's cell to select it, then drag directly on the canvas to change which part of the photo shows, and use the Zoom slider (1x-4x) that appears at the bottom to zoom into a face or detail. Hit Reset to snap the photo back to its centered, unzoomed framing.

When a layout is set to Crop to fit (cover mode), drag any photo on the canvas and drop it directly onto a different photo's cell — a dashed outline marks the target cell, and releasing there swaps the two photos' positions instantly, each keeping its own zoom and framing. It's the fastest way to try a different photo order without removing anything from Your Images.

Yes — every change (moving a photo, dragging a slider, adding text or a sticker) is captured in an undo history a moment after you stop, so the Undo button (or Ctrl/Cmd+Z) steps back through your edits and Redo (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z, or Ctrl/Cmd+Y) replays them. Rapid slider drags are grouped into a single step, so one Undo takes you back to before the whole drag rather than one increment at a time.

Yes — for JPG and PNG exports (not PDF), a Continue in Editor button appears next to Download once your collage is ready. It renders the collage and opens it directly in the full Photo Editor, so you can add filters, more text or other adjustments the collage tool doesn't offer, without downloading and re-uploading the file.

They're quick-size shortcuts for the Output width slider, which itself runs continuously from 400 to 4096 pixels: Social jumps to 1080px for feed posts, HD to 2048px, and 4K to 4096px for the sharpest print or large-display output. The collage's export height then scales automatically from that width based on your layout and aspect ratio, with the exact final pixel dimensions shown live above the slider.

Yes. Switch the image aspect ratio setting from Crop to fit to Keep aspect ratio and every photo keeps its full frame inside its tile. The Join Row and Join Column layouts always preserve each image's aspect ratio — they line photos up side by side at equal height or stack them at equal width, which works well for before/after pairs and photo strips.

Yes — pick any background color, choose a preset gradient such as Sunset, Ocean, Mint or Slate, or browse the built-in background designs. The background shows through the spacing between tiles and the outer border, so widening those gives it more presence. Export as PNG to keep the background color at lossless quality.
