Drop a PDF and the tool shows a thumbnail of every page. Click the rotate-clockwise or rotate-counter-clockwise button under any page to rotate it 90° at a time, or use the "Rotate all" buttons to apply the same rotation to every page. Save the corrected PDF with one click.
usageThis is the classic case for per-page rotation. Scanned multi-page documents often have a mix of portrait and landscape pages, with some upside down depending on how they were fed into the scanner. Use the thumbnail view to spot each problem page and rotate it individually until everything reads upright.
tipsNo — rotating changes the page's rotation property, not the page content. Text remains selectable, images stay at full resolution, and the file size is essentially unchanged. This is far better than rotating via a screenshot or by re-rendering through a print dialog.
qualityPDF rotation is restricted to multiples of 90° by the PDF specification — 0°, 90°, 180°, 270°. For arbitrary angles you would need to rasterise the page (which we don't do here to preserve quality). Use a desktop editor for non-standard rotations.
technicalYes — we update the page's /Rotate metadata which is the PDF-standard way to express orientation. Every conforming viewer respects it, including Preview, Adobe Acrobat, Chrome's built-in viewer, mobile readers and printers.
technicalYes — that's the per-page workflow. The thumbnail view shows the current rotation for each page (0°, 90°, 180° or 270°) so you know exactly what will be applied at save time.
featuresYour PDF is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, rotated on our secure server, and automatically deleted afterward — we never store, share, or sell it. For workflows where even transient upload isn't permitted (e.g. certain ID, contract or medical-record policies), use a desktop PDF tool that runs fully offline instead.
privacyPreview the rotated PDF before signup, then create a free account to download it without a watermark. Premium remains available for genuine higher-volume capabilities.
pricingSet the angle (for the whole document or page by page), then click Save Rotated PDF — that writes the new orientation into the file itself. Unlike rotating inside a PDF viewer (which often only changes how that one app displays it), the saved file reads upright in Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Chrome and mobile readers alike.
usageRotate only changes page orientation. To remove pages or change their order, use Organize PDF, then come back here if any pages still need straightening. Keeping the two jobs separate keeps each one lossless.
features"Apply to all" sets one rotation angle for every page at once — fastest when the whole document was scanned sideways. "Per page" lets you click through thumbnails and give each page its own angle, which is what you need when only some pages in a scan came out rotated wrong.
featuresUse the 0° / 90° / 180° / 270° buttons in the Rotation panel to jump straight to the angle you want in one click, instead of pressing "Rotate all 90° CW" multiple times to reach 180° or 270°. In Per page mode these buttons apply only to whichever thumbnail is currently selected.
usageStart in "Apply to all" mode and click "Rotate all 90° CW" (or CCW) to fix the majority of pages in one action, then switch to "Per page" mode, click each problem thumbnail, and set its individual angle from the 0°/90°/180°/270° grid. Combining the bulk rotation with targeted per-page fixes handles a mixed-orientation scan far faster than rotating every page individually from the start.
tipsUpload the PDF and rotate the pages 90 degrees — use 'Apply to all' to turn every landscape page portrait at once, or switch to 'Per page' mode when only some pages need flipping. The rotation is written into the file itself, so the pages stay portrait in Acrobat, Preview, Chrome and on paper when printed. It's free and requires a free account to download.
usageYes — Pixoate supports batch and bulk processing. Switch to Batch mode, add up to 60 PDFs on Premium or 200 on Pro, set your options once, and every PDF is processed with the same settings before you download a single ZIP. Bulk processing is a Premium feature; the output uses the same quality and settings as single mode.
featuresYes — with bulk processing you configure the settings a single time and they apply to every item in the batch — up to 60 PDFs on Premium or 200 on Pro. There is no need to repeat the setup per item, and Temporary uploaded and generated files are processed securely and deleted automatically.
usageHow Rotate PDF helps you get it done
Real problems it solves every day — for businesses, creators, and everyday tasks. Find the use case that fits you and start in seconds.
Fix Sideways Scanner Output
Document scanners often produce pages with mixed orientations when paper is fed in landscape. Rotate the problem pages 90° each so the entire document reads correctly top-to-bottom.
Reorient Phone-Scanned Documents
When scanning with a phone camera, accidentally-rotated pages happen all the time. Rotate them after capture without reshooting.
Reading Long Landscape Tables
Wide spreadsheets exported to PDF print as landscape pages but appear sideways on a portrait monitor or e-reader. Rotate to landscape display orientation for comfortable reading.
Fix Upside-Down Receipt Scans
Scanned receipts often come out upside-down because they were placed face-down in the scanner. Rotate 180° for a quick fix without rescanning.
Architectural & Engineering Drawings
CAD/Revit-exported PDFs of plans often have specific page orientations per sheet. Adjust per page so plan sets read correctly for site reviewers.
Mixed-Orientation Booklets
Booklets and zines sometimes have intentional landscape spreads inside a mostly-portrait document. Rotate to display reading orientation on screen without changing the print layout.
Fix Rotated Scans Before a Portal Upload
Government, insurance and visa upload portals often reject or auto-crop sideways scans. Straighten every page to right-side-up before uploading so your submission isn't bounced back for a fixable formatting issue.
Correct Sideways Pages From an Old Fax
Faxed and legacy scanner output often arrives rotated because of how the paper fed through the machine. Rotate the affected pages 90° or 180° in seconds instead of asking the sender to refax the document.
Check Orientation Before Sending a Booklet to Print
Catch and correct sideways or upside-down pages in a print-ready PDF before it goes to a print house, where a rotation mistake means a wasted print run rather than a five-second online fix.
Fix Orientation of Legal Exhibits Before Court E-Filing
Court e-filing systems frequently reject or flag exhibits that were scanned sideways from a legal pad or a bound exhibit binder -- straighten each page before submission so the filing doesn't bounce back from the clerk's office over an avoidable formatting defect.
