How it works
Blemish Remove is a compact source-local repair, not face smoothing, beauty regeneration, or a general mole eraser. It requires exactly one complete near-front face. A dedicated face detector verifies that only one face is present, MediaPipe Face Mesh V2 verifies its full geometry, and MediaPipe six-class portrait segmentation separates face skin from hair, beard, body, clothing, accessories, and background. The dense face oval is intersected with verified face skin, then expanded mesh guards protect the eyes, irises, eyebrows, nose, lips, inner mouth, hair, beard, and skin boundary. Only isolated red anomalies that differ from their own source-local skin baseline and pass strict size, compactness, count, coverage, and dark-core rejection limits can qualify. Each accepted mask receives bounded source-local LAB correction that retains fine luminance texture; luminance movement is capped at four LAB levels, red-chroma movement at twelve, and blue-chroma movement at four. Dark-only moles, freckles, scars, broad redness, pores, stubble, wrinkles, facial geometry, expression, body, clothing, lighting, background, framing, uploaded alpha, and every pixel outside the compact accepted masks are copied unchanged into a lossless PNG. It never smooths or denoises the face, removes dark identity marks, uses generative inpainting, reshapes, recolors the whole face, or regenerates the portrait. Multiple faces, profiles, incomplete or tiny faces, uncertain skin evidence, obstructions, noisy compression, and photos without a safely proven compact red blemish are refused rather than guessed.
