How it works

Height Adjust does not send the portrait through a full-frame generator. It requires one clear head-to-toe person and cross-checks mirrored MoveNet Thunder shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle landmarks against separate face detection. Six-class portrait segmentation must then trace one continuous shoulder-to-shoe envelope, independently verify both separated leg and complete shoe silhouettes, and confirm clean background beside the body and below both feet. One vertical source-pixel mesh begins about 10% below the shoulder line and proportionally lengthens the arms, torso, and legs through the ankles by up to a restrained 5.5% at maximum intensity. Complete shoes are translated downward without intentional scaling, nearby source background is compressed only inside the measured side-and-floor envelope, and displacement fades to zero at every boundary. The head, face, hair, upper shoulder line, distant background, and every pixel outside the envelope are copied unchanged into a lossless PNG. Cropped, raised-arm, bent, touching, occluded, transparent, or ambiguous full-body poses are refused instead of guessed.

Processing

Height Adjust uses an AI action. Any separate allowance is shown before this effect starts processing.

Best for

sharp opaque front-facing head-to-toe photos of one person with a clear face, relaxed straight arms, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and complete shoes visible, separated straight legs, and clean background beside and below the body.

Less suited to: cropped portraits, group photos, side poses, raised or crossed arms, bent or crossed legs, feet together, skirts or very wide clothing that hide body boundaries, hidden shoes, busy floor areas, transparent cutouts, motion blur, and feet touching the frame edge.

Ways to use Height Adjust

  • Apply a restrained apparent-height adjustment without regenerating facial identity, clothing texture, shoes, or the whole portrait.
  • Lengthen the visible body below the shoulders proportionally instead of changing only the legs.
  • Use intensity to choose a subtle or more defined height preview within a fixed safety limit.

Height Adjust questions

How is Height Adjust different from Leg Length?
Leg Length starts around mid-thigh and changes only two leg envelopes. Height Adjust begins below the shoulders and proportionally lengthens the visible arms, torso, and legs inside one full-body envelope while keeping the head exact.
Will Height Adjust stretch my face or shoes?
No. The warp begins below the shoulder line, so the head, face, and hair remain source-exact. It ends at the verified ankles, then translates the existing shoes downward without intentionally scaling them; a few antialiased shoe-edge pixels may be resampled during movement.
