How it works

Mature Skin is a texture-respecting tone treatment, not an age transformation. It requires one complete near-front face, cross-checks dedicated face detection with MediaPipe Face Mesh V2, and uses MediaPipe six-class portrait segmentation to distinguish verified face skin from hair, beard, body, clothing, accessories, and background. Exactly three bounded zones cover safe skin on the forehead and both cheeks; dilated face-mesh masks protect the eyes, irises, eyebrows, nose, and lips. Inside those zones, a skin-mask-normalized local baseline measures broad variation in the two LAB chroma channels without importing color from nearby hair, beard, or background. The renderer does not alter LAB luminance, and each chroma correction is capped at two levels at full intensity. Wrinkles, pores, fine texture, age cues, facial geometry, expression, and source lighting therefore remain anchored to the uploaded photo. Eyes, irises, eyebrows, nose, lips, inner mouth, hair, beard, clothing, background, framing, uploaded alpha, and every pixel outside the three reported zones are copied unchanged into a lossless PNG. It never ages, de-ages, smooths, blurs, sharpens, reshapes, inpaints, or regenerates the person. Profiles, incomplete or tiny faces, uncertain or incomplete face-skin evidence, obstructions, and already-even skin are refused or left unchanged rather than redrawn.

Processing

Mature Skin uses an AI action. Any separate allowance is shown before this effect starts processing.

Best for

sharp, evenly lit, near-front portraits with one complete mature face, natural visible skin texture, and an uncovered forehead and cheeks.

Less suited to: side profiles, tilted or cropped faces, glasses, hair or hands covering the face, heavy makeup, strong color lighting, tiny faces, motion blur, group photos, and already-even skin.

Ways to use Mature Skin

  • Balance small broad color patches on the forehead and cheeks while retaining every source wrinkle and pore.
  • Prepare a respectful mature portrait without making the person younger, older, smoother, or structurally different.
  • Use intensity to control a capped chroma-only correction while the rest of the portrait remains source-exact.

Mature Skin questions

Will Mature Skin make me look younger or remove wrinkles?
No. It does not change age, geometry, or LAB luminance. It only balances measured broad chroma variation in three verified skin zones, so wrinkles, pores, shadows, expression, and facial structure remain anchored to the source.
Why not apply Mature Skin the same way virtual staging edits a room?
Virtual staging intentionally synthesizes large replaceable room regions. Mature facial texture carries identity and age cues at pixel scale. Mature Skin therefore uses face landmarks and semantic skin evidence, changes only capped chroma inside three local zones, and refuses uncertain photos instead of asking a generator to redraw the person.
