How it works
Natural Beauty does not regenerate, reshape, inpaint, or blur the portrait. It requires one complete near-front face, cross-checks dedicated face detection with MediaPipe Face Mesh V2, and uses MediaPipe six-class portrait segmentation to distinguish face skin from hair, beard, body, clothing, accessories, and background. It builds exactly three broad but bounded skin zones across the forehead and both cheeks, while dilated face-mesh masks protect the eyes, irises, eyebrows, nose, and lips. A skin-mask-normalized local baseline prevents nearby background, hair, or beard color from bleeding into the correction. Only measured mid-scale luminance and chroma variation is reduced; fine luminance detail and natural pore texture are retained. At full intensity, luminance correction is capped at two LAB levels and each chroma correction at three LAB levels. Facial geometry, expression, protected features, hair, beard, clothing, lighting, background, framing, uploaded alpha, and every pixel outside the reported zones are copied unchanged into a lossless PNG. Profiles, incomplete or tiny faces, uncertain or incomplete face-skin evidence, and obstructions that leave any zone without enough safe skin are refused. Skin that is already even is returned unchanged rather than unnecessarily processed.
