Settings information

Every control in Watermark Image, explained — what it does and when to use it.

Watermark

WatermarkPresets
Switches the watermark between typed text and an uploaded logo image; the controls below change to match the chosen type.Options: TextLogo
Quick textPresets
One-click preset phrases such as a copyright line, CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT that instantly fill the watermark text field and remain editable.Options: © 2026© PixoateCONFIDENTIALDRAFTSAMPLEDO NOT COPYPREVIEW
Watermark textText input
The exact text stamped onto every image; type your own phrase or start from a quick-text preset and edit it.
FontDropdown
Typeface used for the text watermark, from clean sans-serif to classic serif and bold display styles; pick one that stays readable at small sizes.Options: system-uiArialGeorgiaCourier NewImpactTimes New Roman
BoldOn / Off
Thickens the watermark text so it stays legible even at low opacity or small scale.
ColorColor picker
Sets the text watermark color with a full picker or one-tap preset swatches; choose a shade that contrasts with your photos.Options: #ffffff#000000#dc2626#16a34a#1e40af#2d48ff#eab308
Upload logo (PNG with transparent background works best)File input
Secondary image used as the watermark when the Logo tab is selected; a transparent PNG blends most cleanly over your photos.

Position

PositionPresets
Places the watermark in one of nine spots on the image, or tiles it repeatedly across the whole frame for stronger anti-copy protection.Options: Top leftTopTop rightLeftCenterRightBottom leftBottomBottom rightTile
RotationSliderRange: -90–90° · Default: 0°
Angles the watermark up to 90 degrees in either direction; a diagonal tilt reads naturally while being harder to crop out.

Style

OpacitySliderRange: 5–100% · Default: 50%
How solid the watermark appears, from a faint 5% to fully opaque; lower values keep the photo clearly visible underneath.
ScaleSliderRange: 2–40% · Default: 18%
Watermark size as a percentage of each image, so the mark stays proportionally consistent across differently sized photos in a batch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Drop an image, switch to the Text tab, type your watermark text (©, ™, brand name, etc.) and adjust the font, color, position, opacity, scale and rotation in real time. The preview updates as you tweak; when you are happy, hit Download. Watermarking many images at once and getting them back as one ZIP (Download All) is a Premium feature.

usage

Yes — drop or select dozens of images and the same watermark settings are applied to every one. Output is packaged as a single ZIP so you can save it once and unzip into your delivery folder. Your images are uploaded to our secure server to composite the final watermark and are automatically deleted afterward; we never keep or share them.

features

Both work — text watermarks are quicker to set up and easy to read; logo watermarks reinforce your brand identity and look more professional in a portfolio context. For client galleries, a low-opacity logo watermarked diagonally across the photo prevents free downloads from undermining your licence fees.

tips

Choose from nine positional presets (corners, edges, center) or pick "Tile (repeat)" to cover the entire image with a repeating pattern of your watermark. Tile mode is the strongest anti-theft choice — anyone wanting to use the image would have to remove watermarks from every region.

features

Pick a contrasting color (white on dark scenes, black on light scenes) or use a neutral grey at 30-40% opacity which reads on both. The opacity slider goes from 5% to 100% in 5% steps so you can find the right balance between visibility and aesthetics.

tips

PNG inputs stay PNG (lossless); JPG inputs are re-encoded at 92% quality, which is visually indistinguishable from the original for nearly all photography. EXIF metadata is stripped in the process — useful for privacy when sharing publicly.

quality

Yes. The on-screen overlay you see while adjusting sliders is only a browser approximation; the final watermark is composited on our secure servers for pixel-accurate, full-resolution output, and the file is deleted automatically afterward. We never keep or share your images — but if you need a strict never-uploaded guarantee for confidential imagery, use a desktop watermarking tool that runs fully offline.

privacy

Yes — watermarking is free with a generous daily allowance, and we never add our own logo to your output. Batch-watermarking many images at once (e.g. a whole wedding album into one ZIP) is a Premium feature.

pricing

No. This is a watermark adder, not a remover. It applies your own text or logo watermark onto photos you own; it does not erase or edit out an existing watermark from an image.

features

The Font dropdown offers six typefaces — system-ui, Arial, Georgia, Courier New, Impact and Times New Roman — covering clean sans-serif, classic serif and bold display looks. The separate Bold checkbox thickens whichever font you pick, which helps small watermark text stay legible at low opacity or small scale.

features

The Scale slider runs from 2% to 40% of the image and sets how large the text or logo renders regardless of the photo's resolution, so the same setting looks consistent across a batch of differently-sized images. Use 8-15% for a discreet corner mark and 25%+ for a bold, hard-to-crop-out logo watermark.

features

The Rotation slider swings from -90° to 90° and angles your text or logo diagonally across the photo instead of sitting flat. A 30-45° rotation is a common anti-theft trick because it makes the watermark harder to crop out cleanly while still reading naturally left-to-right.

tips

Yes — the Quick text row offers one-click presets including the current year copyright symbol, CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, SAMPLE, DO NOT COPY and PREVIEW. Clicking one instantly fills the watermark text field, which you can still edit afterward if you need a variation.

usage

For a subtle brand mark, use Bottom-right position, 10-15% scale, 30-40% opacity and a color that contrasts gently with your typical backgrounds. For strong anti-theft protection, switch Position to Tile, raise opacity to 40-50%, set rotation to around 30-45° and increase scale slightly — this covers the whole frame so no single crop can remove it.

tips

Upload a PNG with a transparent background for the cleanest logo watermark — a logo with a solid white or colored background will render as an opaque block sitting on top of the photo instead of blending in. JPG logos work too, but only if you're fine showing that background color over every photo. Switch to the Logo tab and use the 'Upload logo' file picker; the live preview updates immediately so you can check the look before applying it.

features

The on-screen preview is an approximate overlay so it can update instantly as you drag sliders; the actual watermark is composited on the server using precise pixel positioning for each image's exact resolution. Position, scale, rotation and opacity all carry over exactly, but minor differences in font rendering or edge anti-aliasing can appear between the browser preview and the final render. If you're watermarking mixed-size images in a batch, check the downloaded ZIP rather than judging the whole set from a single file's preview.

technical

Every photo you add is uploaded to our backend, which composites the text or logo watermark at full resolution and returns a processed file (or a ZIP for a batch) for you to download — it is not rendered entirely client-side with canvas and JSZip. Files are still handled securely and auto-deleted after processing, the same as every other tool on the site; only the live on-screen preview you see while dragging sliders runs locally, as an approximation of the final server-rendered result.

privacy

Yes — Pixoate supports batch and bulk processing. Switch to Batch mode, add up to 60 images on Premium or 200 on Pro, set your options once, and every image is processed with the same settings before you download a single ZIP. Bulk processing is a Premium feature; the output uses the same quality and settings as single mode.

features

Yes — with bulk processing you configure the settings a single time and they apply to every item in the batch — up to 60 images on Premium or 200 on Pro. There is no need to repeat the setup per item, and Temporary uploaded and generated files are processed securely and deleted automatically.

How Watermark Image helps you get it done

Real problems it solves every day — for businesses, creators, and everyday tasks. Find the use case that fits you and start in seconds.

Photography

Photographer Portfolio Protection

Apply a subtle copyright watermark to client gallery previews so clients can see the work but stolen-and-reposted versions still credit you. Batch the entire shoot in one upload, ZIP-download, and ship to the client.

For E-commerce

E-commerce Product Branding

Stamp every product photo with your store logo or URL so when shoppers screenshot and share, your brand travels with the image. Tiled mode covers every region for maximum reach.

Real Estate

Real Estate Listings

Add agency branding to every listing photo so when scrapers republish to third-party sites, the agency credit is preserved. Logo watermark in a corner is most popular for this use case.

Events

Conference & Event Coverage

Photographer covering an event applies the event logo to every photo in the gallery before sharing with attendees and sponsors. Drives social engagement and protects against unauthorised commercial use.

For Business

Stock Photo Pre-Release

When pitching to stock agencies or licensing platforms, a "PROOF" or "SAMPLE" watermark prevents free use during the review window. Remove the watermark on accepted submissions.

Marketing

Bulk Social Media Posts

Apply consistent brand watermark to a folder of social media images before scheduling. Saves the manual Canva pass on every single post.

Education

Course & Ebook Screenshot Protection

Instructors watermark lesson screenshots and slide exports with a tiled 'CONFIDENTIAL' or course-name mark so paid course content can't be freely reshared outside the platform.

Legal

Case File & Evidence Photo Stamping

Stamp scanned evidence or inspection photos with a case reference and a rotated 'CONFIDENTIAL' watermark using Tile position, making unauthorized redistribution of sensitive documents obvious.

Publishing

Museum & Archive Digital Collection Credit Lines

Stamp high-resolution scans of artwork, manuscripts or artifacts with an institution credit line before publishing them online, so the collection stays publicly viewable while every reused image still carries proper attribution.
