About the Seeds Counter
The seeds counter works from the 1–3 example seeds you mark — one per different-looking kind — filters low-confidence repeat candidates, and marks retained results for review. Distinct objects mode boxes each separated item without needing examples. Visibility and overlap still affect the total. Built for seed labs, agronomists and crop researchers.

Frequently asked questions
- Do the items need to be separated before counting?
- Slight touching can work, but full overlaps hide items and make the result less reliable. Spread them one layer deep under even light, mark a clear example, and review every result marker.
- How small can the seeds be?
- Each seed needs to be a few pixels across in the photo, so very small seeds need a closer shot rather than a wider one. Spread them one layer deep on a plain, contrasting tray, mark one clear seed, and review the markers before recording the total.
- What if the photo has more than just seeds in it?
- Your marked examples tell the counter exactly what to count. Drag a tight box around one complete, clearly visible seeds — up to 3 examples for different-looking kinds — and only matching items are counted. Similar-looking distractors can still affect the result, so review every marker before using the total.
- Can I count several photos into one total?
- Yes — count each photo with its own marked examples, and add every result to the tally sheet as a labelled row. A marked example belongs to the photo it was drawn on, so mark each photo as you go. Export the tally as CSV or a PDF report, or save it to your account.
- Is it free and private?
- Yes. You can count, review and download a free result without an account. Downloads are free without a watermark. No signup required. Server-processed photos are encrypted in transit and removed under our Security policy.
