How it works

Infrared Aerochrome uses a deterministic source-pixel treatment instead of asking a generator to repaint the scene. It measures green dominance, saturation, brightness, and nearby coherent green support, then hue-maps only qualifying source-green pixels into crimson and magenta while retaining their photographed lightness and detail. Blue sky, clouds, water, buildings, people, non-green objects, geometry, framing, and uploaded alpha remain source-exact in a lossless PNG. An ordinary RGB photo cannot measure true infrared reflectance, so the tool deliberately makes no claim that it can distinguish chlorophyll from every green-painted surface.

Best for

foliage-dominant landscapes, forests, green meadows, parkland, and travel photos with clear blue sky or other non-green regions that must remain exact.

Less suited to: dry or autumn landscapes, interiors, low-saturation or heavily compressed photos, scenes with little green, and photos where green clothing, vehicles, signs, or painted surfaces must not shift.

    Why does foliage turn red?
    Living vegetation reflects infrared light very strongly. Infrared films mapped that band onto the red layer, so healthy plants render bright red or magenta while everything else stays roughly normal. It was originally used for aerial survey work.
    Will Infrared Aerochrome change the sky or rebuild my landscape?
    No. The renderer is non-generative and copies every non-qualifying pixel from the upload. Blue sky and clouds stay exact. Only coherent source-green pixels can shift, so green man-made surfaces may also change because standard RGB photography contains no true infrared channel.
