Box Mockup Generator
Generative output can vary; review the full result before publishing
Box artwork is approved panel by panel and experienced as a solid object, and the gap between those two is where design problems hide — a logo that breaks across a fold, panels that do not resolve at the corner, proportions that felt right flat and read squat in three dimensions. Photograph a printed sample or a folded prototype, or upload a 3D render, and this direction builds a presentation setting around it so those issues are easy to review before the die is cut. It does not assemble flat panel artwork into a box.

Photographing a folded sample box so the mockup shows the panels that matter
Fold a sample or a white dummy box, glue printouts of each panel in place, and photograph it at a three-quarter angle so the front, one side and the top are visible together. That single view answers most approval questions: does the logo break across the fold, do the panels meet at the corner, does the box look squat or tall in its real proportions. The AI is asked to keep the box as shot and generates the table and light around it.
Light from one side to separate the panels; when two faces are lit equally the box reads as flat. A matte board photographs more cleanly than gloss, where window reflections stay on the panels. Leave room around the box so the scene has space to build around it.
Look closely at blank surfaces: inside flaps and unprinted panels should stay plain, and any barcode, symbol or line of text you did not print means another run. A mockup cannot stand in for the printer's dieline or a physical proof. For shipping boxes that open on camera, look at mailer mockups; for retail boxes on a shelf, see the carton options. Free downloads are web size with no watermark, and Premium or a credit returns full resolution.
Box mockup generator: present a folded carton or shipper in a new scene
This box mockup generator starts from a photo of a box that already exists, such as a folded prototype, a printed sample or a 3D render saved on a solid background, and builds a presentation scene around it. It helps you see how artwork, folds and proportions read before a die is cut. It does not fold flat panels into a box and it does not produce a dieline.
Photograph the box so the mockup shows the right panels
One photo shows at most three faces of a box, so choose them for the question you are asking. A three-quarter angle with the front, one side and the top visible answers most approval questions. Light the box from one side so the panels separate, and leave space around it.
- Fold the sample and glue printouts of every panel in place.
- Photograph it at a three-quarter angle on a plain surface.
- Upload the photo and choose Plain white, Soft gray, Wood shelf or On the shelf under Styles.
- Select Generate Product scene.
- Look at corners, folds and the lid edge, then download the PNG.
What to inspect at corners and folds
Artwork that crosses a fold has to line up, and logos near an edge rarely survive it. Look at every corner where two panels meet, at the lid seam and at any thumb notch. A box that is subtly off in proportion reads cheap even when the print is strong, and the page has no size controls, so the proportions you see are the ones in your photograph. Build the sample from the real dimensions.
Pick a look for a retail, gift or shipping story
On the shelf shows a carton among a softly blurred store interior and suits retail packs. Wood shelf is warmer and fits gift or craft boxes. Plain white and Soft gray are neutral and give the box a clean slide. For a mailer or a shipping carton, take the plainest look and name the surface you want in Custom instructions.
Do not rely on generated barcodes and handling marks
A barcode, a recycling symbol or a shipping mark has to come from your approved files, and the look prompts ask the page to leave unprinted surfaces blank. If a mark appears on a plain panel, generate again and do not use that image. To judge a whole pack among others, see the product packaging visualizer, and for a printed label on a bottle, open the label mockup page.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I check artwork across box folds?
- Look at every corner where two panels meet. Artwork that continues across a fold has to line up, and logos or type crossing an edge rarely survive. Review a folded prototype or a 3D render rather than the flat file — the generated setting only presents what your photo shows.
- Do box proportions matter for the presentation?
- Considerably. A box that is subtly wrong in proportion reads as cheap even when the artwork is strong, and shipping cost is driven by real dimensions. The AI is asked to keep the proportions of the sample or render you photograph, so build that from the actual dieline dimensions; this page has no size controls.
- Can I use this to approve a dieline?
- No. A dieline is a production drawing with bleed, glue tabs, creases and tolerances, and it must come from your printer or structural designer. The mockup shows how approved artwork looks assembled; it does not describe how the box is actually cut and folded.
- What about barcodes and shipping marks?
- Always supply real ones as artwork. A generated barcode will not scan, and a generated shipping mark carries no meaning. Anything machine-read or legally required has to originate from your approved files, then be verified on a physical proof.
- Can I turn a dieline file into a 3D box mockup here?
- No. A dieline is a flat production drawing, and a flat file uploaded alone comes back flat. Fold a printed sample or export a render from your design software, save it on a solid background and upload that picture. The page presents a box in a scene; it does not construct or measure one.
- How do I show a box open, with the lid off?
- Photograph it open: rest the lid against the base so the outside print and the inside both show, then upload that photo. The page builds the scene around the arrangement you photographed, so it cannot open a closed box for you.
- Which look suits a shipping or mailer box?
- Plain white or Soft gray keep the box as the subject, and a sentence in Custom instructions can name a table or a floor if the story is delivery. Avoid On the shelf for a shipper, because it places the box in a retail store.
- Why does my box look taller or squatter in the result?
- The page asks to keep proportions, but camera distance and angle in your photo change how a box reads, and the regenerated picture can shift edges slightly. Photograph from a modest distance instead of close up with a wide lens, compare the outline with your original and generate again if the shape changed.
- Can I show a set of boxes of different sizes together?
- Photograph them together on one surface with space between boxes and nothing cut off, then upload the group photo. Check that the count and the relative sizes are the same in the result, since an extra or missing item is easy to overlook.
