Almost always one of three things. The file is over the 20 MB free upload limit — Premium takes 50 MB and Pro 120 MB. The format is not one this tool accepts, so check the list shown on the upload panel. Or the file is not really the format its name says: renaming a file does not change what is inside it, and that is the reason a valid-looking image gets refused.

Start from the highest-resolution original you have. A screenshot of a photo, or a copy that has already been compressed and re-shared, gives the tool far less to work with and no setting recovers that. Then, where there is a strength control, come down from the default — most photos need less than the default suggests. Compare against your original at full size before you download.

Yes. After the cutout, open the Shadow tab and switch on Drop shadow. Set the Horizontal, Vertical, Blur and Opacity controls until the shadow looks natural. The shadow is baked into the downloaded PNG on the white background, so the product does not look pasted onto the page.

Use the Background Remover rather than this page. It removes the white and returns the product alone on a transparent PNG. This page does the opposite: it puts the product on pure white, so the output has no transparency.

The product's color is meant to come from your own photo. The default Engine 1 is built to keep color from your photo, and if its result drifts, Engine 2 takes over automatically. Still, check the result against the real item, since light and edge pixels can shift.

The original background and the product are probably close in tone, which leaves the edge little contrast to hold onto. Start from a sharp, evenly lit photo, then open Refine edges and use Erase for leftover patches and Restore for parts that were cut away.
