Packaging Mockup Generator
Generative output can vary; review the full result before publishing
A flat artwork file is almost impossible to judge. Clients and buyers need to see the pack standing on a shelf before they can say whether it works. Photograph a printed sample or prototype, or upload a 3D render, and this direction builds the setting around it — surface, backdrop, shadow — while the AI is asked to keep the pack as you photographed it, so what you are reviewing is meant to be your design rather than an approximation of it. Check the result against your photo. It does not wrap flat artwork onto a pack shape.

What to photograph for a packaging mockup, and which page to start from
This tool works from a photo of a real pack: a printed sample, a prototype, or a plain dummy with your artwork printed and wrapped around it. The AI is asked to keep the pack as you shot it, and builds the surface, backdrop and light around it. It does not fold flat artwork into a box or wrap a label onto a bottle, so a flat dieline uploaded on its own comes back as a flat sheet in a nicer setting.
Because the AI is asked to keep the pack as photographed, your photo sets the quality. Use soft, even light from one side, a plain table, and an angle that shows the front panel plus one side. Leave clear space around the pack; when it fills the whole frame the scene has no room to build. A 3D render works too if you export it on a solid background, since transparent files are rejected.
The type, industry and material pages each start from a different question: present a folded carton at a three-quarter angle, stage a drink can for a fridge-door shot, or show a jar of food in a kitchen setting. Whichever you use, inspect corners and see-through parts at full size and look for text or marks you never printed. Packaging mockup generator: show a real pack in a presentation scene
This packaging mockup generator takes a photo of a pack you already have, such as a printed sample, a prototype or a 3D render saved on a solid background, and builds a presentation setting around it. A mockup helps you judge a design and show a client where it is heading. It does not wrap flat artwork onto a pack, and it is not a print proof.
Make a packaging mockup in 5 steps
A mockup here starts from a picture of the pack, not from artwork. Photograph the sample against a plain surface in soft light, with the front panel toward the camera and space around it.
- Upload one photo of the printed pack, or a render saved on a solid background.
- Under Styles, choose Plain white, Soft gray, Wood shelf or On the shelf.
- Select Generate Product scene.
- Compare the type, logo and colors with your photo.
- Download the PNG, or select Edit again to try another surface.
Choose the setting for the question you are answering
Plain white and Soft gray are neutral stages for a slide, with a light contact shadow or a gentle gradient. Wood shelf is a warm shelf against a neutral wall, which suits craft and food goods. On the shelf puts the pack on a simple retail shelf with a softly blurred store behind it. Each look is written to keep every surface without artwork blank and smooth, so a plain panel stays plain.
What a mockup can settle and what it cannot
A mockup is for concept work and client conversation: does the design read, does the pack suit its setting, which of two directions feels right. It is not a dieline, which is the printer's production drawing with bleed, folds and tolerances. It is not a color proof either, because screen color differs from ink on the real material. Approve print from a physical proof, and show the source photo of the sample beside the mockup so a client sees both the real pack and the presentation.
Check type, marks and edges before you show it
The whole picture is generated again with a request to keep the pack as photographed, so fine print, barcodes and thin parts such as hang tabs can change. Zoom to full size against your source and read the smallest type first. Regulated text must come from your approved artwork, never from the mockup. For a single carton, try the box mockup page; for a curved label on a bottle, use the label mockup page.

Frequently asked questions
- Will my artwork stay exactly as supplied?
- The AI is asked to keep the pack in your photo as shot, but the whole frame is re-rendered, so the artwork can drift from that photo. Flat artwork on its own is not wrapped onto a pack — photograph a printed sample or use a render. Always check the result against your source at full size before it goes to a client, paying particular attention to edges, small type, barcodes and any legally required marks.
- Can I use a mockup to approve print?
- No. A mockup shows presentation, not production. Color on screen is not color on a press, and the pack shows only what your photo captured. Approve print from a physical proof on the actual substrate — the mockup is for the conversation before that point.
- What should I avoid putting on a generated pack?
- Anything a regulator or a buyer would treat as a claim: invented ingredient lists, nutrition panels, certification marks, awards or made-up legal copy. Generated readable text is unreliable and, on packaging, actively dangerous. Supply real artwork for everything that carries meaning.
- Which pack shapes work best?
- Any pack you can photograph cleanly against a plain background — boxes, pouches, jars, tubes, cans. The pack is detected automatically, and clear outlines are found most reliably; thin parts such as hang tabs, strings or clear windows can be trimmed or padded, so check those edges against your photo.
- Can I upload a flat design file and get a 3D packaging mockup?
- No. The page works from a photograph or a render of a pack, so a flat file comes back flat in a new setting. To see artwork on a real form, print it, wrap or fold it around a sample, photograph that and upload the photo. A transparent PNG is refused, so save a render on a solid color first.
- Which of the four looks should I use for a client presentation?
- Plain white or Soft gray keep attention on the pack and drop cleanly onto a slide. Use Wood shelf or On the shelf when the client wants to see the pack in a retail or home context. Run the same photo through two looks and show them side by side so the choice is made on equal terms.
- Why did a barcode or a line of small print change?
- The picture is generated again around the pack, and fine details such as barcodes, nutrition text and legal lines are the ones most likely to drift. Do not use the generated version of any of them. Keep the real artwork file for those elements and treat the mockup as a picture of the design, not a record of its text.
- Do the blank panels on my pack stay blank?
- The looks ask for every surface without supplied artwork to stay blank and smooth. Blank areas are still worth checking: look at inside flaps, back panels and the base. If a mark appears where nothing was printed, generate again and do not use that image.
- How many angles of the pack should I show a client?
- Show the front panel straight on for a clean slide, and add a three-quarter view when the client needs to see a side or the top. Run each photograph with the same look so the set matches, and name each image by its angle so nobody mistakes a view for a different design.
- Can I mock up several packs together for a range shot?
- Photograph the range arranged on one surface and upload it as one picture, or run each pack separately with the same look and arrange the results with the Photo Collage Maker. Check that every pack is still there with the same front facing. A Premium batch applies one look to many photos and returns a ZIP.
