Opening Kodak KDC photos from old EasyShare and DC cameras as JPG
KDC files come from Kodak's consumer cameras. A few higher-end EasyShare models, such as the P712, could save RAW as KDC, and some of Kodak's earlier DC-series digital cameras from the late 1990s used the extension too. Kodak's own EasyShare software is no longer supported, so a folder of KDC files from an old card or CD often will not open on a current computer at all. This page turns them into ordinary JPGs.
The files are modest in size: the P712 recorded about 7 megapixels, so a KDC usually uploads without a plan and the JPG is ready for a 6 × 4 or 7 × 5 inch print. If you have dozens of them, Premium's batch mode converts up to 60 at once and returns a ZIP, numbered in the order you queued them.
Old compact-camera photos can look soft or dull next to today's phone pictures. Tidy up noise, sharpness and color with the photo enhancer, then share a set of family photos in one collage. If you would rather keep a lossless master of each picture, use KDC to PNG.
Checks for KDC conversions
- The photo stands upright; turn it if the camera stored it sideways
- Skin tones look natural under the white balance the camera chose
- The print size suits a picture of about 7 megapixels or less
