Turning a .heif photo into a JPG anyone can open
HEIF is the open standard that iPhone .heic photos are built on, and some phones and editing apps save it under its own .heif name. Plenty of Windows PCs, office tools and upload forms still refuse it, so a JPG is the copy to send when the picture has to open on someone else's device without extra software.
Left at its starting value of 90, the quality slider keeps the JPG close to the original; the slider's own hint puts most photos at 60 to 80 when a lighter file matters more. A 10-bit or HDR HEIF is brought down to standard 8-bit color during conversion, so very bright skies or lamps can look flatter than they did on the camera screen. The JPG keeps the full pixel size of the photo on every plan.
Only files ending in .heif are listed on this page; for pictures from an iPhone that end in .heic, use the HEIC to JPG converter. If an upload form caps the size, compress the JPG to 200 KB or another target. With Premium, a whole shoot of up to 60 .heif files converts in one go and downloads as a single ZIP; Pro raises the batch to 200.
