Why do I need to convert SVG to PNG?

SVG is a vector format (scales infinitely sharp) but many platforms don't support it: Word and PowerPoint render SVG poorly, Instagram only accepts raster, email clients often strip SVG. Convert to PNG for those contexts; keep the SVG as the master file.

What scale should I export at?

1x for web display at native size. 2x for retina/HiDPI displays. 4x for print at 300 DPI. 8x for billboard-size print. Higher scale = sharper but larger files; pick the smallest scale that meets your output medium.

Will transparency be preserved?

Yes — pick 'transparent background' and the PNG keeps the alpha channel from the SVG. Logos and icons with cut-out areas stay clean. Switch to 'white' or custom color if you need a solid background.

Can I convert SVG fonts and embedded text correctly?

Yes — text rendering uses the system fonts referenced in the SVG. For SVGs using non-system fonts, embed the font as a path in your design tool first (Figma: Outline Stroke, Illustrator: Create Outlines) so the SVG is self-contained.

Why does my PNG look pixelated even at 4x?

Make sure the SVG itself is high-quality (proper paths, not embedded raster images). An SVG containing a low-res JPG inside will still be pixelated when rasterized. Open the SVG in a text editor and check it's actual vector code.
