Almost always one of three things. The file is over the 20 MB free upload limit — Premium takes 50 MB and Pro 120 MB. The format is not one this tool accepts, so check the list shown on the upload panel. Or the file is not really the format its name says: renaming a file does not change what is inside it, and that is the reason a valid-looking image gets refused.

Start from the highest-resolution original you have. A screenshot of a photo, or a copy that has already been compressed and re-shared, gives the tool far less to work with and no setting recovers that. Then, where there is a strength control, come down from the default — most photos need less than the default suggests. Compare against your original at full size before you download.

There is no hex or color picker field. You describe the color in words in Custom instructions, so a named shade such as navy blue or burnt orange is more dependable than a code. AI results vary, so compare the result with your reference when the match matters, for example a brand color.

It can, but plain garments give the most predictable result. On stripes, prints and logos the new color can drift or flatten the pattern, so say which part to recolor, such as the solid body of the shirt, and check the print afterward. Refine area manually helps when one part must stay as it was.

When several objects share a color, a general instruction can recolor more than you meant. Name the object and its position, such as the sofa on the left, or switch on Refine area manually and brush over just that object. Only the painted pixels are replaced.
