Using a PNG copy of a JPG on the way to Instagram
Converting a JPG to PNG will not make an Instagram post sharper. Instagram compresses what you upload, and the PNG only holds the pixels the JPG already had. The PNG will not have a transparent background, because a JPG has none to carry over. To place a person or product over a new backdrop, cut out the subject with the background remover instead.
