Frequently Asked Questions

PNG is a lossless format preferred for editing, layering, logos, screenshots and print, and it is accepted by design tools that prefer PNG over JPG. Converting gives you a clean PNG copy that preserves every pixel of the original and respects EXIF orientation.

usage

No. Converting changes the file format but cannot invent transparency that was never in the JPG — the background stays solid. To get a transparent background, use the Remove Background tool, which cuts out the subject and exports a transparent PNG.

technical

Processing and previewing are free. Create a free account to download the standard result, which has no Pixoate watermark. Files are processed on our secure servers and deleted automatically.

pricing

Yes. Batch mode converts up to 60 JPG files with Premium or 200 with Pro and returns one ZIP. You can see one JPG-to-PNG result before signing up, then create a free account to download it clean and continue within the Free plan allowance.

features

This tool outputs a PNG image, not a document. If you want to turn one or more JPGs into a PDF you can email or print, use the Image to PDF tool instead — it combines images into a single multi-page PDF.

usage

No — and that is on purpose. PNG is a lossless format, so there is no quality slider to set: every pixel of your JPG is copied across exactly, with no extra compression added. The only trade-off is size — a PNG is usually larger than the JPG it came from. If you need a smaller file afterwards, run the PNG through the Image Compressor.

technical

If the image is a JPG or JPEG, drop it on this page and preview the lossless PNG before signup. Create a free account to download the standard result. Matching WebP, HEIC and AVIF converters use the same flow and delete temporary files automatically.

usage

No — the conversion is bit-faithful to the JPG, so the PNG looks exactly the same and cannot recover detail the original JPEG compression discarded. What PNG gives you is protection going forward: editing, cropping, and re-saving a PNG never degrades it, while re-saving a JPG loses a little quality each time. To genuinely enhance a photo, use the Image Upscaler tool instead.

quality

Yes — Pixoate supports batch and bulk processing. Switch to Batch mode, add up to 60 files on Premium or 200 on Pro, set your options once, and every file is processed with the same settings before you download a single ZIP. Bulk processing is a Premium feature; the output uses the same quality and settings as single mode.

features

Yes — with bulk processing you configure the settings a single time and they apply to every item in the batch — up to 60 files on Premium or 200 on Pro. There is no need to repeat the setup per item, and Temporary uploaded and generated files are processed securely and deleted automatically.

How JPG to PNG helps you get it done

Real problems it solves every day — for businesses, creators, and everyday tasks. Find the use case that fits you and start in seconds.

For Developers

Layered Editing Without Recompression Loss

Convert a JPG source to PNG before opening it in Photoshop, GIMP or Affinity so every re-save during editing stays pixel-exact instead of re-introducing JPEG artifacts each time the file is saved.

Publishing

Print-Ready Artwork for Print Shops

Many print and direct-to-garment services reject compressed JPGs for logos and text-heavy artwork — converting to PNG keeps solid colors and thin lines free of JPEG banding before you upload to the print vendor.

For Business

Batch-Convert a Whole Shoot for Client Delivery

Switch to Batch mode to convert a full folder of delivered JPGs to lossless PNG in one pass and download a single ZIP, instead of converting photographer or agency deliverables one file at a time.

For Creators

Text & Caption Overlays That Stay Crisp

Convert a JPG to PNG before adding bold captions, watermarks or callout text in a meme generator, social template or slide deck, since PNG has no compression to blur or halo sharp text edges the way re-saving a JPG does on every edit.
