Frequently Asked Questions

Fill in your business name, client details, line items, tax rate and payment terms, optionally upload your logo, and download a print-ready PDF you can email to your client. The tool computes totals, taxes and discounts automatically so the math always adds up.

usage

Yes. Upload a PNG or SVG logo for sharp display at every size, set a brand accent color for headers and totals, and drop a transparent signature image at the bottom. The invoice keeps its identity across PDF and email.

features

Yes. Add line items with quantity and unit price, set a tax rate (VAT, GST, sales tax) and an optional discount, and totals update in real time. Multi-rate tax (different rates per line) is supported for cross-border invoices.

features

USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR, JPY, CNY and 30+ other currencies, with symbol placement that matches local convention. Date formats follow your locale — MM/DD/YYYY for the US, DD/MM/YYYY for Europe, YYYY-MM-DD ISO for everyone else.

compatibility

Yes. Save invoice drafts locally in your browser as templates per client, then load them next month, update the dates and totals and re-export. free account required to download for local saves; cloud sync is optional.

features

No — the PDF is generated on our secure server: your business, client and line-item details are sent over HTTPS to build the PDF, and both the file and the data you entered are deleted automatically within 24 hours — unless you explicitly share a result, which keeps it at a public link anyone who has it can open for up to 30 days. We never view or share your invoice data. If you need a strictly offline, no-upload workflow, a desktop invoicing app would be a better fit.

privacy

Yes. Start from a blank invoice, type in your business and client details, add line items with quantity and rate, and the subtotal, tax and discount totals calculate automatically. Download a clean PDF when you're done. It's free to preview; create a free account to download, so it works as a reusable invoice template you fill out fresh for each client.

usage

Yes. Grab the drag handle next to any line item and drop it into a new position — the subtotal, tax and total recalculate live regardless of item order, since totals are derived from quantity × rate across all items, not their position. Reordering is useful for grouping related services together before you export the PDF.

features

They insert a pre-filled line item — Consulting hours, Design service, Development hours or Monthly retainer — with a typical description, quantity of 1 and a sample rate, which you then edit to match your actual charge. It's a shortcut for freelancers who bill similar line items repeatedly instead of typing a new description every time.

tips

Use the Notes / payment terms textarea near the totals — anything typed there prints at the bottom of the PDF, so it's the right place for bank details, payment deadlines, late-fee terms or a thank-you note. It supports multiple lines, which the PDF preserves exactly as entered.

usage

Set the Currency once for that client, use Quick add to drop in your standard line items and adjust the rate, then set Tax % and Discount % to your usual rates — the live preview updates instantly so you can confirm the total before downloading. Since nothing is saved server-side, keep a copy of the generated PDF as your own template to speed up next month's invoice.

tips

Each line item shows small up/down arrow buttons next to the grip handle on touch devices, since native drag-and-drop doesn't work reliably with a finger. Tap the arrows to move a line item up or down the list — the subtotal, tax and total stay correct regardless of order, exactly like dragging on desktop.

technical

Yes. The Invoice # field accepts any text you want — your own numbering scheme, a project code, or a client reference — and Issue date and Due date use standard date pickers you can set to any dates. These fields update the live preview immediately so you can confirm the invoice reads correctly before generating the PDF.

usage

There is nothing to install — the invoice generator runs in your phone's browser, so it works like an invoice maker app on iPhone and Android. The form, live preview and automatic totals all work on a small screen, and the finished PDF downloads straight to your device ready to email to your client. It is free to preview; create a free account to download.

usage

For freelancers and small businesses sending a handful of invoices a month, a free invoice generator is usually enough: fill in your details, let the tax, discount and totals calculate automatically, and download a clean A4 PDF with no watermark. Dedicated invoicing software mainly adds payment tracking and automated recurring billing — worth it only once your invoice volume grows.
