Why convert PUB to PDF?
- Every page of the PUB becomes a page in the PDF, in the same order.
- Text and shapes stay vectors, so the PDF stays sharp at any zoom and prints crisply.
- Text stays selectable and searchable, so you can copy it or find a word.
- PDF is supported far more widely than PUB, so the file is easier to open, share and upload.
- No Microsoft Publisher needed: the file is opened on our servers and you download a ready-to-use PDF.
What to expect when converting PUB to PDF
- Publisher layouts are rebuilt from the file; designs with unusual effects can shift slightly, so check the PDF before you send it.
- Fonts that aren’t embedded in the file are replaced with close equivalents of the same size and spacing.

Archiving Publisher files as PDFs while you still can
PDF is the long-term home for Publisher work. Microsoft has announced that Publisher reaches end of support in October 2026, while a PDF opens on any device, prints at full quality and keeps every page of a newsletter, booklet or brochure in its original order. Text remains real text, so you can search an archive of past issues or copy a paragraph out of an old flyer.
Each page is rebuilt from the PUB file. Most layouts come through closely, but fonts that aren't embedded are replaced by similar ones, and designs that rely on unusual effects can move slightly, so page through each PDF before you delete the originals. A file the converter cannot read gets a clear message saying so; it may be damaged, password-protected or from a version that isn't supported yet.
Have a whole folder of them? With Premium you can convert up to 60 PUB files in one batch, or 200 with Pro, and download the PDFs as one ZIP. Afterwards, merge a year of issues into a single archive or compress large brochures before emailing them.
