Sending a JPG as a one-page PDF to a form or office
Upload portals for visas, insurance claims, school forms and HR systems often accept only PDF, even for a photo of a single document or ID card. This page wraps one JPG in a one-page PDF. The page takes the exact proportions of the picture, so a phone photo of a receipt produces a tall, narrow page with no added margins.
Page size is measured from the pixel count, one point per pixel, so a 3000-pixel-wide photo becomes a page more than 40 inches wide. Viewers zoom it to fit and nothing is lost on screen, but when printing, choose fit to page in the print dialog. If an office expects a standard sheet, put the photo on an A4 or Letter page, which also combines several photos into one document.
Inside the PDF, the picture is stored as a JPEG at the quality the slider sets, 90 by default. Lowering it is the quickest way under an upload limit; for a tighter target, shrink the finished PDF. Photographing paper documents? Capture the pages with your camera and download them as one PDF.
