Lamps are bought as objects and lived with as light — the arc lamp that owns a corner, the table lamp that warms a shelf. This direction places the described lamp in your room photo at believable scale with its glow suggested: sculptural presence by day, pool of warmth by evening, both previewed.

Seeing a floor or table lamp both as an object and as evening light

Lamps are judged twice: as a sculptural object in daylight and as a glow after dark. Run both. First use your daytime photo with an instruction like "brass arc floor lamp beside the sofa, shade over the left seat, switched off", then run it again asking for the same lamp switched on in a dim evening room.

Treat the evening version as mood, not a lighting plan. The AI imagines the glow; it does not know the bulb's brightness or color temperature, and it may relight the whole room in ways a single lamp could not. It is still useful for seeing whether a corner needs light at all, and where a pool of it would land.

Check the object carefully: arc lamps need a heavy base and a believable arm, shades should sit level, and cords should end at a socket rather than vanishing into the floor. Height relative to the sofa back or side table is the thing to compare with the listing. For fixed lighting such as pendants, spots or wall lights, redesign the room's lighting; a lamp usually serves a seat, so place the reading chair with it.

Frequently asked questions

How tall should a floor lamp be beside a sofa?
Shade bottom near seated eye level — around 1.2 to 1.5 meters — so it lights the page, not the eyes. The preview beside your actual sofa shows the relationship the spec sheet describes.
Can I preview the lamp actually lit?
Ask for the evening version — warm glow pooled around the lamp in your dimmed room. Buying light means buying the evening; preview the hour you bought it for.
What should I review in a Lamp result?
Inspect faces, hands, object geometry, small details, perspective, readable marks, and any claim implied by the scene. Regenerate or reduce the requested change when something is inaccurate.
What rights checks apply to a Lamp client project?
Use only source material and references you have rights to, follow the destination platform rules, and obtain any required person or property permissions. Generated output still needs a human accuracy and rights review.
