In short: choose ODD for drawings made in OpenDocument apps; choose PNG for screenshots, logos, text graphics and cut-outs.

ODD to PNG: a lossless picture of the drawing

When an .odd drawing holds a diagram, a schematic or a labeled sketch, PNG keeps it legible: no compression artifacts around lines and text, and an identical image every time it is saved again. That makes PNG the safer pick for documentation, slides and printouts.

The converter confirms the upload is a genuine OpenDocument drawing package before rendering it, then draws page one at 150 DPI onto white. Transparent parts of the drawing are not carried into the PNG, so plan for a white canvas behind every shape.

Two surprises are common. Pictures can go missing, because images linked from outside the file are never loaded; embed them before exporting the .odd. Extra white space can appear, because the whole page is rendered rather than just the shapes, so crop away the unused page area. For all pages or a print-resolution image, convert to PDF first and then render the pages as PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert ODD to PNG?
Upload your ODD file above. It is converted to PNG automatically (change the output format or quality in the Settings tab if you need to), then click Download. There is nothing to install.
Does converting ODD to PNG lose quality?
No. Both formats are lossless, so every pixel is kept exactly.
ODD or PNG: which should I use?
Use ODD for drawings made in OpenDocument apps. Use PNG for screenshots, logos, text graphics and cut-outs. Keep in mind the main drawback of PNG: large files for photographs.
What is a ODD file?
Some apps save OpenDocument drawings with an .odd extension. Image viewers and websites don’t recognise it, so the drawing needs converting before it can be shared.
Is the ODD to PNG converter free?
Yes. Convert, preview and download a single result without creating an account. Premium adds batch conversion (many files into one ZIP) and larger uploads.

For JPG, WebP, AVIF and image-to-PDF output: higher keeps more detail but makes a bigger file; 60–80 suits most photos. Documents (Publisher, XPS, EPS…) become PDFs with every page and sharp text, with no quality setting.
Lossless modeOn / Off
For WebP and AVIF output: keeps every pixel exactly (best for logos, graphics and transparency) at the cost of a larger file.

For JPG, BMP and image-to-PDF output, which can’t store transparency: the colour that fills transparent areas (white by default).
