RAF to PNG for design layouts and background removal

Designers and shops that shoot product or portrait work on Fujifilm cameras often need a picture that drops straight into a layout. A PNG made from the RAF does that job: lossless, full resolution, and in a format nearly every design and presentation app opens, which RAF itself is not.

The PNG is opaque, because a camera exposure has no transparency. To place the subject on another background, cut it out with background removal, which returns a transparent PNG, or swap the background for a new scene. X-series frames are 3:2 and GFX frames are 4:3, so check how that shape fits your layout before cropping.

Color comes from the white balance stored in the RAF, with automatic brightness and no film simulation, at 8 bits per channel. For a catalog or brochure that needs consistent color across many shots, that neutral rendering is a sensible base, but compare a few frames on screen first. If you only need a file to share, RAF to JPG is far smaller.
