How it works
Lensball World places one horizontally centered, bottom-anchored sphere with a full-strength radius of 30% of the short side. Intensity grows its affected area and captured field of view rather than opacity-crossfading two completed scenes: radius follows the square root of intensity, so changed area scales linearly. Inside the antialiased circle, one coherent bilinear RGB coordinate uses a restrained 180-degree equisolid-style projection to compress the prepared frame and turn it upside down. A neutral rim, edge shade, and highlight use source-relative channel limits so they create no new black or white clipping. Every pixel beyond the 1.25-pixel boundary feather remains byte-identical, every nonopaque target and any sample footprint touching transparency are rejected, and working-frame alpha stays byte-exact. The result is a lossless PNG. This is a deterministic single-image illustration with fixed placement—not a measured lens, detected physical ball, ray-traced material, contact shadow, or rebuilt 3D scene.
