How it works

Tilt-Shift Diorama keeps the spatial detail in a narrow centered focus strip. Two depth-assisted blur stages progressively soften the image above and below; the focus strip is excluded from the blur buffers so its colors cannot smear into defocused areas. A restrained saturation and contrast lift adds the miniature-model cue without moving, regenerating, or adding objects. Framing, geometry, and alpha stay unchanged in a lossless PNG.

Processing

Tilt-Shift Diorama uses an AI action. Any separate allowance is shown before this effect starts processing.

Best for

elevated views looking down on streets, harbours, crowds, stadiums, railways, traffic, and other scenes filled with small recognizable objects.

Less suited to: ground-level or eye-level photos, portraits, flat scenes with little distance, and compositions whose important detail sits only at the top or bottom rather than across the centered focus strip.

    Tilt-Shift Diorama questions

Why does tilt-shift make things look tiny?
Very shallow depth of field is something we normally only see when looking closely at small objects. Applying it to a large scene contradicts the scale cues, and the brain resolves the conflict by deciding the scene must be a model.
Can I move the sharp tilt-shift band?
This one-click effect uses a centered band. Crop or reframe the photo first so the cars, buildings, boats, or people you want sharp cross the middle of the image.
