Why convert ICO to PDF?
- PDF is supported far more widely than ICO, so the file is easier to open, share and upload.
- The PDF page is sized to your image, so it prints and previews without cropping or extra borders.
What to expect when converting ICO to PDF
- PDF can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick in Settings (white by default).
- You get one page per image, with the picture embedded as a high-quality JPEG. To combine several images into one PDF, use the Image to PDF tool.

ICO to PDF: an icon on a page for review, approval or print
A PDF of an icon helps when someone has to sign it off, file it with brand documents or print it, and their email or approval system only takes documents. The converter places the largest image inside the .ico on a single page.
That page is as small as the icon: at one point per pixel, a 256-pixel icon makes a page about 3.6 inches square and a 32-pixel favicon one under half an inch. Clear areas around the icon pick up the Background fill color, and the picture is embedded as a JPEG that follows the quality slider; a high setting keeps the small shapes clean.
To present several icons or sizes on one sheet, export each as PNG and lay them out on A4 or Letter pages. Separate PDFs for one review can be merged into a single file.
