Why convert WebP to PDF?

  • PDF is supported far more widely than WebP, so the file is easier to open, share and upload.
  • The PDF page is sized to your image, so it prints and previews without cropping or extra borders.

What to expect when converting WebP to PDF

  • PDF can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick in Settings (white by default).
  • PDF can’t hold this animation, so an animated WebP is saved as its first frame.
  • You get one page per image, with the picture embedded as a high-quality JPEG. To combine several images into one PDF, use the Image to PDF tool.

In short: choose WebP for websites, online stores and blogs that need fast-loading images; choose PDF for emailing, printing and attaching images to forms and applications.

Keeping a WebP image as a one-page PDF record

A WebP saved from a web page, such as a ticket, an order summary graphic, a product spec sheet or an infographic, may not open in the program a colleague or office uses. A PDF opens in the viewer built into almost every browser, phone and computer, so wrapping the WebP in a one-page PDF makes it easy to file, print or attach.

The page takes the picture's proportions with no border. Transparent areas are filled with the Background fill color, white by default, and an animated WebP contributes only its first frame. The quality slider controls how the picture is compressed inside the PDF; the default of 90 keeps detail close to the original, and lowering it trims the file for upload limits.

Saving several web images into one document? Collect them as pages of a single PDF instead of converting them one by one. If you will need the picture back as an editable image later, a PDF is the wrong container; a PNG copy suits that better.
